Now Hiring: Media & Communications Associate (Volunteer)

The Audrey Richards for Congress campaign is seeking a media-minded, enthusiastic individual to serve as a Media and Communications Associate. This will involve 2 - 5 hours per week over the next two months, with a potential increase in time afterward if mutually agreed upon. Reliable internet access is preferred, but finding the right person for the job is our top priority and we will work around limitations.


Core Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the development of a comprehensive media strategy from official announcement through the end of 2021.

  • Developing relationships with media throughout Southwest Missouri on behalf of the campaign.

  • Helping to draft press releases, social media posts, and talking points.

  • Managing the campaign’s website and helping to maintain press lists and disseminate press advisories and releases.

  • Assisting in the pitching, planning and coordination of media interviews in the district.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong candidates will have experience in media relations or have worked on a political campaign. (Previous experience not required, just preferred.)

  • A passion for political communication and Audrey Richards as a candidate.

  • Proficient writing and proofreading skills, particularly with respect to breaking down complex topics and ideas into simple language.


Candidates who live in Missouri's 7th district will receive priority, but this is open to all residents of Missouri. Qualified candidates should submit a a resume to with “Media and Communications Associate” in the subject line.
